Product Description
1862 & 1863 Indian Head Cent Pair Good: When the Indian Head penny was first introduced in 1859, it was colloquially known as a "nickel" or "white cent" because its copper-nickel composition gave the coin a light coloration. We offer a pair of 1862 and 1863 Civil War-era specimens, struck during the same years that two of the most significant battles occurred – Antietam and Gettysburg. Partway through 1864, the final white cents were minted and replaced by a bronze version. Good quality.
Complete "Unofficial" 1995 Civil War 20-FDC Collection: The USPS released a collection of 20 different 32¢ stamps featuring a variety of Civil War participants and events on June 29, 1995 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A complete collection of first day covers canceled in Gettysburg sells elsewhere for significantly more, but we've sourced an extra-special deal! Our set of covers was also canceled that same day, but at Beauvoir, the home of the Confederacy's president, Jefferson Davis in Biloxi, Mississippi. Envelope artwork may vary.
