Product Description
At one time in the not so distant past, the 1898-O New Orleans Morgan silver dollar was among the most costly mint-state coins in the series. It was said that even the largest dealers were all unlikely to have a single mint-state 1898-O Morgan dollar in stock. In the early 1960s when one could be found, it could fetch about $400, which is well over $3,000 in today's currency. When the Treasury opened its vaults, bags of 1898-O dollars were discovered and released, making this once rare coin accessible again. Nicely detailed Very Fine quality.
