Early-date San Francisco Mint Lincoln cents can be tough to find. The west coast mint produced just 4.4 million business strikes in 1912 – a mere drop in the bucket compared to Philadelphia and Denver's output for those same years! Of course, after the passage of more than 11 decades, the number of specimens that survive in collectible condition is much lower than the original mintage would suggest.
