Product Description
Featuring a distinctive blue seal, small sized $1 silver certificates were issued from 1928 and into the 1950s. These certificates promised to redeem silver on demand and could be exchanged for a silver dollar. By the 1960s, the redemption option was discontinued by the Treasury, although the note was still considered legal tender. The series 1957 note represents the last year $1 silver certificates were issued and also the first to include the motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. Circulated quality.
