The U.S. Mint has created a special one year only Semiquincentennial coin program honoring the 250th anniversary of America's founding. Throughout 2026, circulating quarters will feature five different designs to mark the momentous milestone.
Fittingly, the first issue commemorates the arrival of the Pilgrims and the signing of the Mayflower Compact in 1620. The second issue commemorates the 1775-1783 Revolutionary War led by General George Washington. The third honoring the Declaration of Independence features Thomas Jefferson, author of the famous document and third President of the United States.
