These specimens were issued from 1824 to 1836 and may well have been used at the Alamo, the historic Spanish mission and fortress in San Antonio, Texas, famous for the 1836 battle that occurred there. This coin of the Mexican Republic contains more precious metal than classic U.S. silver dollars! It once was legal tender in the United States and continued to circulate informally, especially in the South and West. Very Fine quality. Our choice of date based on availability.
