Australia 2025 Proclamation Pillar Dollar 1 Oz. Silver BU — Marking 225 years since the inception of Australia's first official currency system, this 2025 one ounce silver commemorative pays tribute to the coin that helped stabilize the struggling British penal colony of New South Wales. Struck in .9999 fine silver and limited to just 30,000 BU pieces, it recreates the iconic Spanish Pillar dollar originally declared legal tender by the colony's governor in 1800 to counteract a severe currency shortage. Its reverse engraving mirrors the historic eight reales that fueled early colonial trade. King Charles III obverse.
