Product Description
1973 & 1974 Proof Set Pair. Although already in circulation for two years, the Eisenhower dollar did not make its debut in U.S. proof sets until 1973. The big Ike dollar was added to the cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar proofs which made the 1973 set the first-ever 6-coin proof set. The Ike dollar remained in the following year's 1974 proof set, which had the lowest mintage in a generation (from 1961-1985) at just over 2.6 million -- that compares favorably to the 1973 output of just 2.7 million.
