Product Description
In 1872, nearly 150 years ago, Ulysses S. Grant was elected president, American suffragist Susan B. Anthony was arrested for voting, Yellowstone was established as the world's first national park and the inaugural Montgomery Ward catalog was mailed. That year, just 4,042,000 Indian Head cents were output — the fifth lowest mintage of the entire series. Due to its buying power, very few of those 1872 pennies were saved from circulation. Today these coins are a true scarcity and hard to find in any grade. Out Good quality specimens retain clear dates and a nice amount of detail.
