This first-year Morgan is a great prize for collectors, especially in our Brilliant Uncirculated quality. It was struck at the small Carson City, Nevada branch mint, whose production was quite limited compared to the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. Just 2,212,000 of these 1878-CC specimens were minted and of those only a small portion remain after melts and attrition. There's always a great demand for this original Wild West CC-mintmark Morgan date and comparatively few are ever available in the marketplace.
