Huge numbers of this early Philadelphia Mint Morgan dollar were lost in government melts in the 20th century. So its 11.1 million mintage is deceptively high. Today as few as 300,000 may be extant according to a silver dollar encyclopedia. Over 12 times as many of some other Morgan issues of the time may exist. Our Brilliant Uncirculated quality retains nice original luster and displays no sign of wear (bag marks will be present, as is normal).
