Product Description
Weighing scarcity against price, O-Mint Morgans are typically good comparative buys. This vintage 1883 silver dollar, issued well over a century and quarter ago, was struck by the historic New Orleans Mint in the heyday of the series. The branch mint had only recently re-opened after Reconstruction and totally specialized in Morgan silver dollars. No other coin denominations were struck by the New Orleans Mint at that time. Its mintage of 8,725,000 was well below the principal Philadelphia Mint's 12.2 million output for that year. Very Fine quality.
