Product Description
In 1928, the original Congressional quota for the Peace dollar series was reached, and minting abruptly stopped at the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. The no-mintmark Philadelphia output of 360,649 proved to be the lowest in the entire series and today it's very costly. The 1928-S San Francisco mintage of just 1.6 million was the only other Peace dollar production for the year. Together they formed the smallest mintage combination for any multi-mint year in the series. Clearly detailed Very Fine quality.
