This big 90% silver coin was struck to commemorate the centennial of the first appearance of Simón Bolívar on Venezuelan coinage. Colloquially known as El Libertador, Bolívar led Venezuela and other countries to independence from the Spanish Empire. The obverse of this unique coin depicts an incuse bust of the revered leader with the dates 1873- 1973. The reverse features an incused coat of arms. Brilliant Uncirculated quality.
