Issued in 1994, the USPS mistakenly used a photograph of Bill Pickett's brother, Ben Pickett, as the basis for the steer wrestler's portrait. Only a month after the stamp's release, the descendants of the Pickett's informed the USPS of the error. The stamps were recalled and slated to be destroyed, but over five million had already been printed and shipped to post offices around the country. In an effort to offset printing costs and demand from collectors, the USPS decided to sell a portion of the error sheets by lottery. You'll get the original error sheet as well as the reprint.
